FREE resources to help schools across rural Nepal

Library Nepal is an educational resource that has been designed and created by Elektra Media, in association with Istambha Nepal, supported by the Centre for Information Technology Nepal, the Computer Association of Nepal and Tribhuvan University. The resources aim to promote engagement with libraries, reading and literacy across Nepal, particularly by supporting schools in remote and rural areas.

Through helping schools to establish self-sustaining reading groups, Library Nepal provides school staff with a framework for making the best use of their school’s library and resources. It provides structured activities that encourage students to develop a love of books, nurtures their curiosity about learning and empowers students in their own education.

Library Nepal aims to:

• provide school staff with a framework for making the best use of their school’s library and resources
• suggest effective ways of establishing self-sustaining reading groups and activities that do not rely on staff time
• provide structured activities to encourage curiosity about learning
• empower students in their own reading and learning.
